I hope everyone's holiday season is going well! Recently the boyfriend and I took a trip with some friends to ICE! Which is a walk through exhibit where everything is made out of ...you guessed it .. Ice. It was 9 degrees the entire time! Here are some pictures, enjoy!

One of my favorite Disney movies as a kid was Fantasia. I have always loved classical music and was just mesmerized by this movie! My favorite parts are the Hippo ballerina, the unicorns, and the mushroom dance! So I am thrilled that I stumbled upon nOir Jewelry! They currently have some pieces inspired by Fantasia! They are just simply stunning!

I have been so so so busy lately that I think I forgot I have a blog. School and work take up my life, but I did have a chance last weekend to host a Halloween party! This past weekend was Jonathan's birthday! We had a great weekend, we went to the spa for a couples massage and then out for a fabulous dinner. The next day I baked a peanut butter, chocolate cake that would make your head spin! I found the recipe on Vanilla Sugar . I wish I had more pictures to share but we haven't bought a new camera yet. Growing up, Willy Wonka was one of my favorite movies. I always wanted to win a golden ticket, who didn't? Well now you have a chance of winning one! Willy Wonka came out with a line of chocolate bars, called "The Exceptionals", which are being introduced with a golden ticket contest! A lucky five winners, will get a trip around the world! Not as good as a tour of the chocolate factory, but pretty damn close. Will you go buy a bar?

I am going to make croissants this week. I like to bake, I LOVE croissants, and there is not one bakery around my house that makes them. So, I have decided that I will have to make them. It will be a tedious task that will take me all day and I am not looking forward to it, but I am looking forward to eating them:) I will let you know how it goes. OH, and if anyone has tips on making them or a particularly good recipe, please feel free to send it my way!

In other, non-pastry news, it is Jonathan and I's four year anniversary this week:) I have no clue what to get him:(

Ice Ice Baby...

On a recent trip to Ikea, I was stopped cold by a giant collage of pictures from the IceHotel in Sweden. You sleep on ice, covered in reindeer skins and a thermal sleeping bag, in a chilling -5 degrees. The hotel melts every summer, turning into a river, and then they rebuild it every winter! This is the absolute coolest thing I have ever seen and I am dying to stay there one day!

I wouldn't mind getting married there either!

I decided this year that I was going to read as many books as possible. I'm hoping to get through 75.....:) we'll see if that happens. So far, I've read I've read five, five down and 70 to go. I am currently reading Anna Karenina for the first time, it's my first Tolstoy and I have to say that I am in love with this book!

Jonathan, and I have decided to "finish" a room. Our house is not even close to being decorated yet so we have decided to start small and begin with the study. Over the weekend we picked up some great bookcases and lights from Ikea .....

We are currently in search of a nice chaise lounge or big arm chair. I have always wanted one just like this ....

But Jonathan said no.:( I also really love this one, but it is a bit out of our price range.

If anyone knows of any good furniture sites or has any suggestions, I would love to hear from you!

This movie was delightful. I long to be a whimsical, french, gamine running through Paris changing lives and causing a little bit of mischief. I am currently learning french, so it was exciting when I understood certain things without reading the subtitles. If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it. J'adore Amelie!

Ballet has always been and will always be one of the most beautiful things in the world to me. Having been a ballerina for 10 years myself, I've seen more than my fair share of gorgeous ballet costumes. And as tempting as it would be to go sauntering down the street in a full tutu..... it's not exactly practical. So to feed my tulle fix, I've found a few pieces that I can incorporate into my everyday life. I'm obsessing over the black and white dress. Tres Jolie!
